Die Arbeiten von Helen Bannert werden von Alltagssituationen- und szenarien inspiriert, bei welchen die Künstlerin zumeist persönlich zugegen war.
Diverse Musikgenre und Bücher beeinflussen ihre Arbeit sowie die Philosophie Albert Camus‘ oder die Werke von Künstlern wie Francis Bacon, Günther Brus, Oskar Kokoschka und Egon Schiele. Als weitere Quellen der Inspiration sollen an dieser Stelle der Wiener Aktionismus, der Surrealismus und Expressionismus aber auch die Verhaltens- und Kognitionspsychologie genannt werden.
Im Jahr 2007 wurde Helen Bannert an der Kunstakademie Düsseldorf aufgenommen und beendete ihr Studium erfolgreich mit dem Erhalt des Akademiebriefs im Sommer 2014. Im gleichen Jahr wurde ihr von Professor Tal R. der Meisterschüler für besondere künstlerische Leistungen verliehen.
Die Philosophie der Künstlerin basiert auf dem Existentialismus und der Absurdität des Seins.
Aus diesem Grund stellt sie vorrangig eine schonungslose, realistische Sicht der Wirklichkeit dar, um eine kompromisslose Wahrheit zu repräsentieren, da sie überzeugt ist, dass Kunst dort am stärksten und effektivsten ist, wo sie entschleiert, klarlegt, offenbart und an den Grundfesten der Gesellschaft rüttelt. Somit wird dem Betrachter die Möglichkeit eröffnet die menschliche Natur zu analysieren und seine Sicht auf das Leben zu überdenken.
Dazu nutzt die Künstlerin das visuelle Stilmittel der Verfremdung und verzerrt bewusst das Bekannte und Vorhandene, um Neues zu erschaffen.
Wenn die Künstlerin das menschliche Wesen und sein Verhalten erforscht, besteht ihr Interesse vornehmlich darin den Beobachter mit seinen Ängsten und Abgründen sowie seinen damit einhergehenden Vorurteilen zu konfrontieren, weil sie der Überzeugung ist, dass nur auf diese Weise ebensolche überwindet werden können.
Denn nur die Kunst kennt keine Grenzen!
The artworks of Helen Bannert are influenced by scenes and situations of our everyday life. Most of the time the artist was part of the shown situations.
Her art is inspired by various kinds of music and books, the philosophy of Albert Camus, artists like Francis Bacon, Günther Brus, Oskar Kokoschka or Egon Schiele from Austria, Viennese Actionism, surrealism and expressionism, behaviorism and cognitive psychology.
In 2007 Helen Bannert started her studies of art at the Academy of Fine Arts Dusseldorf, Germany and graduated in 2014 with a diploma. In the same year her teacher, the danish artist Tal R., conferred a distinction on her called master
student which is an honor for special artistic accomplishments.
The artists philosophy is based on existentialism and the absurdity of existence.
That is the reason why Helen Bannert shows a realistic and blunt view on reality to represent the uncompromising truth because she is convinced that art is most effective if it reveals, clarifies and shakes society to the very foundations so that the observers get the possibility to think about their nature and their view on life.
To accomplish all her aims the artist uses the stylistic device of visual alienation and distorts the known so that it leads in a new creation.
When the artist explores human nature and behavior, she wants to face the viewers with their fears of the strange and associated prejudices because she believes that this is the only way to overcome them.
At least, art does not know any borders!
